Many people know about Cabrini-Green outside of Chicago, but the Robert Taylor Homes were a massive stretch of high rises along the State Street Corridor from 39th - 54th Streets. Densely packed, the housing project held around 27,000 families in 4349 units at its height in 1965. For 40 years in what sociologists referred to as structural monstrosities and filing cabinets for the poor, Barbara Moore found a home for her three children in Chicago's Robert Taylor Homes.
