June 19, 1865 word finally gets to Galveston, Texas proclaiming that all Slaves in Texas were now free despite The Emancipation Proclamations 2.5 yrs earlier in 1863. December 1865 the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution is ratified ensuring All Slaves are now Free! July 1964 The Civil Rights Act finally ends Jim Crow type Laws in these very same former Confederate Slave States. Outlawing Discriminators based on Race, Color, Religion, Sex (now includes LGBTQ), or National Origin.
