Individual gain is not the same thing as personal betterment. If you focus on guarding the power you gained, you will inevitably become a source of cruelty. This is what I have been haunted by in recent days. How do I make a world better when I am so deep within a system that encourages individual gain? When does the affirmation for what I have become a cruelty that demands the suffering and even death of others? I feel like my mission is to make things better, not make things more satisfying. Indeed, would Breonna Taylor have died if we all worried about making things better more often? Would Elijah McClain have had a different fate if we affirm each other for how we nurture rather than affirm each other for the power we indulge? Most will avoid this level of existentialism. Indeed, if you read this far I am impressed; most would have abandoned this text at the moment it didn’t get them what they want. Yet this is where we are. We all get conditioned to want. Our want comes first. It’s been built into our systems, so deeply that you’ll often affirmed for placing your gain above overall betterment. They are not the same. We must face the challenge of understanding this. As much as we don’t want to. I think we need to frame our lives based less on what we get, and more on what we make better. ◽️ #beach #dunes #clouds #confrontracism #reprieve #thot #sand #nature #shirtless #noshirt #stepback #shift #instagay #capecod #provincetown #akaXN #TheRealXN (at Provincetown, Cape Cod) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCBFv2LjSK0/?igshid=mjgu3irj3bm2
