Tagged by the lovely and talented (yes you are, so hush) @congregamus . Only doing part one in answering the questions for now.
1) Which historical period do you regularly daydream about living in?
(Yes, you can use your head canon fantasy history where it’s not necessarily a shit hole devoid of human dignity.)
I think Earth in the Star Trek prime universe between the Khitomer massacre and the start of TNG. I wanna know the backstory of a lot of people.
2) What was the last amazing book someone recommended to you?
Anything by the late Terry Pratchett, and several people have said I should be reading more of his works (I’ve only read two Discworld books). The last actual book I loved that was recommended -- ages ago -- was “Palimpsest” by Cathrynne Valente as recommended by the sweet @joshuatabor .
3) Are you a soap cilantro person or a yum cilantro genotype?
Yum cilantro/coriander person here. I do taste like a flower-type note to it, but I like it.
4) Two part question: Does shit get to you? Are you anxious or chill?
All the time. I’m inwardly anxious but outwardly chill (mostly).
5) Pancakes or waffles? Hash browns or home fries?
Both. Hash browns over home fries mostly, but I like both (hey, it’s potatoes!)
5) Where do you get your news?
CBC (Canada); BBC (UK); Washington Post; New York Times. Sometimes when a news items comes across my eyes on social media I investigate it first (especially if I see it on tumblr or Facebook first). I may check multiple sources for the same item if I feel really jaded.
6) What kinds of practices/actions are you engaging in these days to combat the feeling of helplessness?
Ha! BWAHAHAHA! Usually escapism via games or Netflix.
7-8) You’re going to pack a picnic. What goes in? Who’s coming along?
Meat (several kinds of sliced deli meats; bacon; chicken salad); seaweed/wakame/miyeok salad; kimchi; fresh fruit, cubed/diced; strawberry lemonade, spiked or not. I’d bring a few people along (not saying whom). ;)
9) Describe your favorite shirt that you’ve ever owned?
I actually don’t get attached to shirts. My favourite item of clothing I own is my blue robe that I got for my work anniversary.
10) What’s your brillion-dollar app idea?
A Lyft/Uber service, but for home cooks. You pay for the supplies and labour and someone with know how (who’s not a professional chef but likes to cook) will make and bring you a meal of your choice.
11) And finally, are you a true believer in our savior Carly Rae Jepsen?
Semi-late convert, as I didn’t discover “Kiss” until a few months before “I Really Like You” came out as the first single for “E·MO·TION” came out. But still early enough that I knew who she was and how talented before the TION-stans appeared. I am anxiously awaiting her fourth album. (I haven’t yet bought her first album and I should.)
