My church's Facebook page has been sharing these UCC status updates all week. I'm a Congregationalist, we fall under the UCC umbrella. That's a long way of saying we're Protestant. And as someone who has her own concept of a higher power, which is constantly evolving and being questioned, I can get behind the messages above which, for me, focus on love, joy, hope, rebirth, compassion, equality, self care, meditation, etc.
I don't know if Christ was a physical embodiment of God. But I think he was a pretty groovy dude who taught love and hope and equality for all. And those are important things for me to put into action in my life to feel that I'm doing my best and to be a good example of a just and honest person for my child.
