CLOSED FOR @connect5 PLOT: [ 5PM ] a diner, interior lights flickering under a fierce storm.

it's quite an unexpected detour in his day ⏤ halfway home from work when the sky just opens up. one moment it's sunny and the air is thick with that special kind of late-spring humidity that only the city can bring, and the next he can barely see an inch in front of his nose. the diner is a welcome reprieve and it would seem he's not alone, ushering through the door with a small crowd. he's wet but not soaked, removing his jacket before sliding into an empty booth. the diner is buzzing with patrons and servers caught up in watching the downpour and how it just came out of nowhere. which is fine. he's not in a rush, wasn't planning on stopping. wasn't sure if he's even hungry. the vinyl across from him creaks and he tears his own attention away from outside, from the rain, from watching those still determined to brave the storm and rushing down the sidewalks with coats pulled over their heads. "were all the other seats taken?" it's a playful jab before he's even fully turned, hasn't even taken in the person now sitting across from him.

"no, i'm deadass. are you seriously trying to start a fight over fruity pebbles?" now granted moose did eat three bowls and leave about half a bowls worth in the box. but he's a busy boy! hockey keeps him hungry and the other's mom had said to make themselves at home. "grow up." words are said as moose brings another big spoonful up to his mouth.
