Mother
Levi arrives before opening time. Connie is the only one there, setting up for the day. It is not unusual for him to arrive so early, so he just takes his place on the couch and makes himself at home, like any other day. He turns up his computer, already old and worn out from years of constant use—and he needs to buy a new one, Levi thinks idly.
The silence in SLegion is oppressive due to how unusual it is. There is always something going on, always someone rushing to make orders and customers talking amongst themselves. Levi is not used to how calm it is. He sets his laptop aside and walks over to the counter where Connie is.
Connie looks—distraught. Levi falters for a moment, the sarcastic remark on his attitude immediately dying on his lips. He frowns and searches, as usual, for tells.
“…. Don’t tell me you’re about to shit your pants again, Connie,” he says to break the silence. Of course Levi remembers their last encounter.
