I think the reason I like ConanxElric is that they're incredibly versatile about pretty much anything.

Grumpy and sunshine trope? Can be either of them interchangeably. (Tho in their case it's more like grumpy and bigger than life/eccentric)

Trauma, ptsd and comfort? Possible. (Even for Conan to be the one experiencing it and Elric giving comfort, or at least trying)

The straight man against the idiot? Can be either (tho it's objectively Conan who's the straight man). Comedy? Plenty.

And they don't even have to like each other. (even tho Elric was actually pretty friendly towards Conan by his own standards during their adventure.)

Queerplatonic or friends with benefits with the most intense, passionate hookups? Both work oddly.

I hate that Blue lamp always pops up in my head when I try to get more daring with art.
