There are abusers in all types of relationships.

Would I personally be suspicious of a child/parent incestuous relationship if I don't know them?

Sure!

Would I make a snap judgement and take away their right to personal freedom under no other circumstances other then it's incest?

No!

Would I personally protect a person from actual abuse if I saw it no matter the relationship?

Absolutely! And I have!

But genuinely. There's no reason to be against it if you're a decent person. If you're worried about the abuse or grooming, be worried about the abuse and grooming!

Incest is not inherently abusive. It's not allowing for informed consent that is abusive.

Not consang myself, but saw a blog posting stuff that made me think critically about why I disagree, and putting it here to show support.

The argument against consang relationships, even when adult and completely consenting individuals, is that they have an "inherent unethical power dynamic" always grated my nerves both as a youth liberationist and having lived the way I have.

My parents may have raised my siblings and I in a power dynamic when we were VERY YOUNG, but as we got older, power dynamics lessened, and as we got closer to adulthood they put active efforts to entirely eliminate those dynamics, and treat us as an equal. This is because they had both seen and experienced from BOTH ends of the spectrum of innapropiate power dynamics between parents and children (mom's parents were controlling, seeing her as propety. Dad's mother was neglectful and parentified him), how severely toxic it becomes upon reaching adulthood.

Add in my beliefs that power dynamics between adults and children need to be torn out like a bad kitchen renovation to make room for childrens rights to self determination, autonomy and equal rights, and every time this argument comes up I end up just arguing with people on "why the hell is there a power dynamic in the first place?!" and "power dynamics between parents and thier adult children are unhealthy in the first place, why are you treating it like an inherent fact that doesn't need to be changed?"

Hello!! Idk if there's an official coined term but maybe ficto incest/consang?

Looked around at paraflags and found one that was for fictives but oddly enough no fictoincest by itself :(I'll deep dive on Pinterest later and see if | can find anything though ^^
