Posted @withrepost • @conscious_couture PLEASE RESEARCH THE FULL STORY _______________________________________ A 19-year-old is facing life in prison for killing a man who allegedly raped her and sold her for sex after a judge ruled that she cannot use a Wisconsin law that shields sex trafficking victims as a defense. _______________________________________ Chrystul Kizer met Randy Volar in 2016 when she was 16 and he was 33. Authorities say she was one of about a dozen victims Volar sexually abused and filmed without their consent. On the night of June 5, 2018, Chrystul shot Volar in the head twice at his home in Kenosha, Wisconsin, before setting his body on fire and fleeing the scene in his BMW. Police located the vehicle hours later in Milwaukee and linked it to Chrystul, who confessed to killing him when questioned by police. Four months earlier, Volar had been arrested on charges of child enticement, using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and second-degree sexual assault of a child. Photo and video evidence found at his home indicated that Chrystul was one of his victims. {Read more at Daily Mail} #ConsciousCouture https://www.instagram.com/p/B6N_0nKnWqQ/?igshid=1ltmcy2ohr6as
This is another one of many reasons I don’t deal with Google Posted @withrepost • @conscious_couture Google contractors targeted people of darker skin tones with the lure of $5 gift cards and hid the fact that their faces were being recorded for a facial recognition database, sources told the New York Daily News. The company’s goal is to build a diverse database by funding facial recognition technology, so products like the biometric features on its upcoming Pixel 4 smartphone don’t suffer from racial bias. In the U.S., where 50 percent of us have our faces in databases that may be available to law enforcement, algorithmic bias has had tragic consequences for Black people and people of color, according to Brian Brackeen, founder of Miami facial recognition firm Kairos. _______________________________________ Teams of Google workers were sent to target homeless people in Atlanta, students on college campuses around the U.S. and people attending BET Awards parties in Los Angeles, among others. Workers known as Google TVCs — an acronym for temps, vendors or contractors — said they were paid through third-party employment firm Randstad. The sources said a Randstad supervisor told them not reveal to subjects that they were being recorded. They were told to distract and lie to collect data. Some were told they were playing something like a “selfie game” similar to Snapchat. One said workers were told to say things like, “Just play with the phone for a couple minutes and get a gift card,” and, “We have a new app, try it and get $5.” Photos of the device used to capture facial recognition data showed a phone encased in a large, rugged metal frame and sealed with tamper-detection stickers and security screws. #FacialRecognition #ConsciousCouture https://www.instagram.com/p/B3PQUhHnADg/?igshid=hhdyqgetmig6
Morning Message #Repost @conscious_couture with @get_repost ・・・ The sista @divinestargate shared her opinion on toxic masculinity. Very interesting perspective. Should we investigate toxic femininity, why feminists have latched onto toxic masculinity, and if Black women even benefit from this movement? These all valid concerns. Is the movement more concerned about find solutions or just labeling Black men? #toxicmasculinity #toxicfemininity #DivineStargate #ConsciousCouture (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2OuF3VpNFx/?igshid=10dndsknkx66m
Via: @conscious_couture - Four year old Daniel who doesn’t talk was caught humming and then singing the hit song ‘Old Town Road’ at home. Now the music is being used in therapy sessions to help him talk. His mother Shaletta Brundidge said it took him six months to learn the letter A but he taught himself a song all by himself. The hit song is doing much more than we probably imagined! #MusicIsMyTherapy #ConsciousCouture(💕💚#4evahaka2 #FAMU1908 #CreditToOwner) https://www.instagram.com/p/By3i6QuHmV0/?igshid=diiopdv7lo8t
