How to Clean Rivers and #ServetheEarth
Conservation Legacy and AmeriCorps Southwest Conservation Corps teamed up with organizations in Southwest Colorado for a community-wide Earth Day cleanup. During the event, volunteers picked up trash along the Animas River in Durango, Colorado.
Conservation Legacy operates and supports programs that provide national service and work opportunities for a diverse group of individuals to complete important conservation and community projects for the public benefit. Southwest Conservation Corps, a program of Conservation Legacy, operates AmeriCorps conservation programs across Southern Colorado and Northern New Mexico that empower individuals to positively impact their lives, their communities, and the environment. Projects include trail building, fuels reduction, riparian restoration, erosion control, tree planting, fencing, and exotic plant removal. Other participating organizations include Southwest Colorado AmeriCorps Alums, The Water Justice Project, and Animas River Days.
