ive never done it nah but i wanted to do an au abt it aaaages ago and couldnt figure out how to word what i wanted to figure out the name lol but yes like a year later i finally have it. geocachig. the word i needed that i dont remember the au for.

i heard floating dave im here. im imagining smol but Tall dave getting really excited sometimes and just kind of floating up a couple of inches and jus tb e am i n g!! and on rlly good days karkat holds his hand all the time because dave'll forget hes floating and hit his head on doorways and stuff so karkat weighs him down and keeps him a little closer to be safe

wait im sorry omg did i miss mob boss karkat?? please where does dave fit in there?? is he a rival mob boss or is he like the right hand guy behind karkat??

that au was like dave was part of a famous mob family w lots of money and bubblegum stormed his way in2 daves heart (AKA hella family inheritance and power) and he manipulates himself into the highest point of power in the entire enterprise but dave is like his figurehead. dave comes to all of karkats meetings but karkat sits at the end of the table. if people try to pay more attention to dave than him, hes pissed. hes vicious. hell stand up on the table and strut down it and point a gun right down @ some assholes head to inform him that this is HIS town, thank you v much. he and dave do end up legit but yeah. karkat coldhearted forcing his way to the center and completely devouring the strider empire for his own.

oH and omg now im thinking about dave having to live with PEOPLE again, AND not having his crows with him and being very ???? to rose. and karkat coming to rose and asking her things about earth life trying to subtly determine if dave or rose is the odd one by earth standard?? and she eventually sits dave down and asks him about living with bro and dave just looks at her and is like ?? no i lived with the crows. bro didnt.. didnt do anything good.. and she tells him what parents are supposed(pt)

(pt2) to do and he starts crying because he knew bro was awful to him but never realised how ba d it was

TBH HE HAD NO GAUGE ON EARTH. all of his friends made their guardians sound awful too so even if he was aware that it wasnt really as bad as his situation, he was still convincing himself otherwise. to the point of actually believing it. so finding out down the road just how fucked up it was would mess with him so bad. just,,, like he said to dirk, he never realized how fkn angry he should be until he was on the meteor with so many people that loved him.

aaaahh this crowdave shit is r uin ing me?? thats so precious!! but now im thinkin bout kid dave standing on his roof with all his crows and spinning and dancing with them, just b e a m i n g because theyre playing with him!! and later on the meteor they go through that memory and karkat just stares at dave because hes so shocked hes never seen dave happy like this before god

bonus points if dave is there watching his own memory and he cries quietly bc this was one of the only moments in his childhood he felt safe and he had forgottena bout it. he was so happy and he never had to pretend to be someone he wasnt for the crows to like him. he could tell them how conflicted he felt about his crush on a boy, about how bro goes through everything he has, about how this one bruise hurts really bad and he thinks its broken but hes too scared to ask. they dont call him weak. they dont call him names. theyre still just as happy to be with him as they were already and 2 dave that unconditional support was only extended by them.
