Your Rohan cosplay looks amazing! Can I ask how you made his coat?

Thanks a bunch! The coat is made from a coat pattern I had made from the green jacket I wore in this cosplay. It’s basically just a normal blazer/jacket. 

I made sure my crop top was finished before I started on the pattern for the jacket because I had to measure the front flaps according to it (since the jacket is shorter than his crop top in the front). Then I basically just rounded the front pieces off like he has them. I also added the button flap thingies he has? (the part where the pen nib is holding his jacket together) for sewing the front I suggest looking up tutorials on how to sew rounded edges. 

For the back I made the back piece longer to go to the middle of my knees (since that’s where his jacket falls) and also made the pattern in two pieces so I could have a seam down the middle of the jacket.

After that is done it’s basically just a lot of taking the jacket in, mainly in the sides and then sewing the lining into the jacket. (my lining is super shit but if you want pictures I can show you haha)

The closure has two buttons used: a normal button and one of .. these kind of buttons? I’m not sure what they are called in english 

I put two kinds of buttons to make sure that the closure would stay in place and then glued my pen nib on top of the fabric.

Victim of lethal gassing by railroad thinks about leaving Ohio town

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio—“Give me enough to get out of here and I’m out,” James Figley, 63, a lifelong resident here told Peoples World. At around 9 p.m. on the evening of February 3, Figley was at home when he heard the first explosion.

“It was terrifying, it was like Armageddon. And the smell was horrific,” Figley, who is known locally by the name Sparrow, recalled in a conversation with Peoples World ten days after the disaster. Figley, whose home is only a few blocks from the site of the blast, recalled multiple explosions of deafening intensity; exactly how many was difficult for him to determine.

Figley related the smell was so concerning on the night of the accident that the entire family huddled in a single bedroom. They stuffed blankets under the doorway and covered their mouths and noses with wet cloths in an attempt to filter the acrid smell.

To combat the unbelievably intense fires at the wreck site, fire crews doused the fireball with enormous volumes of water. The water had washed back through the town, carrying with it thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals spilled at the wreck site. The toxic residue and smell were everywhere and in everything. In the creeks, he saw flowing water mixed with contaminants that were still on fire in places.

Figley, who previously worked in hazardous materials cleanup and earned OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification to do so, speculated that initial fire crews were unaware of the toxic contents of the wreck and had simply been trying to cool the fire and prevent further explosions.

At his wife’s workplace, workers attempted to survey the damage. They were sent home within a few minutes after developing headaches presumably caused by the intense fumes.

Explosions from the wreck site continued the morning after the derailment. Residents were told there was a risk of more powerful explosions that could level multiple city blocks.

He described “hazmat people everywhere,” especially in the nearby creeks.

Ten days later “we are still getting that smell in the backdraft from our sewer drain,” Figley reported.

2 dudes at this site i notice most one of them sez things like we’re gonna come sit here w the cool kids, like last week when theyre surveying by me on my phone. longsleeves under his neon orange tshirt, way he walks moves like geology ta andrew. like leaning forward n w some expression on his face. both of them really smooth faces kind of dark skin. yesterday when im sitting on the shoring beams hes about to go, shudders after what someone says to him. says to me he was talking abt something some drill marines related. you were in the marines? x years, my face :0, and you’ve been in construction since then? no i was in military police after that, :00000 and then five years in this company welder and carpenter. how old are you?? wait how old do i look. well i think you look my age, like this, ok takes helmet n glasses off, short brown hair, ohh okay. wym okay?? he says im married and i have a five year old. what??? and maybe a 14 year old i dno, i think its the high cheekbones and they eat everything on their plate one item at a time and im like oh shit i do that too so maybe theyre mine. im lfdknfmjfdg i think early 30s?? im 42. nnnO. no way. then hes like im fucking with you im 29 i dont have the 14 year old, here look at my id. shows me,..immmm. 1992. sez i look 19 20. and he is march 5 also a pisces tho i would not have guessed w that chaotic energy. talk about him n me talking spanish, people think i dont look mexican, i always approach people in english and then if its a paisa im like hey compa,, but hes like he fakes an american accent sometimes to throw them off. to hear them talk shit? yes that and also so they think i dont understand and get comfortable and then when they know i do, we’re all good. or if they were talking shit they know to go away. talking something about what am i doing, theres lots of shit in the dirt, laughs say that again? ..theres lots of stuff in the dirt,, no say it again. and what else.. hes like we have chairs, water. if u need it. oh and says i look indian? which surprised me i was like yeah pakistani. say you look native. i am native american, but my tribe is from mexico so we’re mexican, people think i look filipino. he is very beautiful w like full but not round face slanted eyes. and like fat silver tongue piercing. think very intelligent but not quite aligned but thats cool hes chaotic. and then todayyy god he says come you wanna try welding? yes !? i can? theres no safety shit? i say none of my people are here if you wanna let me.. he says okay come down here, so come down ledge where dirts been excavated, he holds out both his hands to me and i grab thick blue leather welding gloves off him. trucks are going behind me but i dont need to manifest them so its fine. i need to put on his face shield too, but hes like use my helmet it goes backwards on that u see the lips on this side. put it on, can you tighten it? i ask bc gloves are on. tightens it all the way but his heads too big jkflkfdk. i thot you had to squeeze the handle so i kept dropping the stick but just touching it to the metal makes the thing go, its all electric current o__O itss so fucking cool he grabs my hand n leads it but hes looking away doing it blind i dont know exactly what hes trying to do the top or just a line on the side, so i keep trying to move it one direction. n hes like youre going too fast. and then sometimes the stick gets stuck on and you have to jiggle it loose. and to end it you just go back, like sewing. he says i can feel you trying to turn it. in the face shield im like i cant see shit. bc mostly everything is dark except the spark. hes like yeah thats how i spend my days. obviously its all very hot but im not rly thinking about it like that. and then hes like okay i gotta get back to work, before they start laughing at me. in the tan light brown silty dirt we’re both kneeling in. m like yeah ok thank you for showing me!! n then when i walk away towards vanessa both smiling im like me enseño como hacerlo le conte todo lfjkf about yesterday, shes like que bienn, smiling. his name is fernando lol. dont remember rest of it from his id. anyweyz. his grey pants friend is funny too like quiet but w a puff bar sometimes and on his phone and doesnt speak to me w sweatshirt and sunglasses n leans back against beams on his break laughing at whtever fernandos saying w a ph** a**,nnvkjvkdf. learning welding n learning friendflirting w no follow up. but still fulfilling . hes like ill see you all this week probably, no prssure. crazy
