#consumerism???

What do y'all do if you get a gift bought from shien or temu? I usually never use them or end up taking it apart for something else (ie chains, pendants, hooks, ect).

thinking about that last post

and how it reminded me of an album I saw on Bandcamp a few months ago. Only two comments were left on the album page; they both use the words “delicate” and “beautiful,” and one goes in for “exotic.” As I rifle through Little Axe Records’ website I can’t help but get the feeling that this record, like any of the others they sell, stakes itself on the allure of the mysterious deeds of foreigners. Whether I ‘can/’t’ or ‘should/n’t’ listen to this music is a moot question, I think, but I catch myself asking if ‘appreciation’ isn’t just thinly-veiled consumerism -- titillation offered by something strange and new. Why does deciding whether or not to spend this $5 feel so gross
