I can export/archive/backup your Tumblr Blog
Hi — I'm a web developer. I built a tool (called Archivr) to backup Tumblr blogs a few years ago in the hopes of preserving my likes and my own blog. When Tumblr announced their new (bullshit) rules I dusted off the code and made some improvements.
Using Archivr, I can backup the latest 10k posts from a Tumblr blog, including text, captions, photos and Tumblr-hosted videos, in under 5 minutes. More data can be captured beyond that if desired, it just takes longer.
If you want to have your blog backed up or saved before The Purge, send me a message. I'll need the public blog URL (e.g. http://yourname.tumblr.com). If you only want a specific tag archived let me know (e.g. if you only want your original content and not reblogs and tagged your posts with “mine”).
Once the data is stored I'll give you a link where you can download it. I cannot host the data forever, so please download it, make a copy on a thumb drive or external drive, or back it up up to the cloud.
In the future I'll build a tool that can take this exported data in the format it's in and reconstruct a website from that archive. For now I'm just focusing on saving as much of the content as possible before Tumblr nukes it from orbit.

I'm honestly upset I didn't find this video untill almost SIX MONTHS after the ban.
Sigh...so now that they’ve officially launched their content ban, I have a post featuring a growing insect that has been caught by the content ban, I’ve appealed, but unlike the appeals a few days ago this one is not responding instantly and it’s hidden from my page completely until they respond. @staff come on, this is a nature and science blog let me do my job.
For the users afraid of the content ban:
You can all stop panicking now. They're not getting rid of anything, just making it private. And if they end up blocking something that isn't inappropriate, you know you can fix this by appealing. As long as it's been wrongfully flagged and it's not actually wrong, you have nothing to worry about.
