my mom is also biphobic as fuck. Totally supportive of my gay friends but flat out mean when bi folks get mentioned. So, I LOVE MY MOM but I’m kinda miserable in general because I cant be myself around her.
my mom is kinda similar. i came out to her when i was about 16/17 and she went on this awful rant about how bisexuals are the worst (even worse than the Gays in her eyes because they’re promiscuous and dirty etc etc) and that i was confused etc etc etc. never touched the subject with her again.
but my mom is slowly learning to be more tolerant, at least. i think she’s making an effort because her children have called her out on it so much, and she’s watching some gay-friendly shows like grace and frankie and as silly as that is, i think it’s helping her.
i have no idea how she’d react if i brought a girlfriend home tho.
