WB6 Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening regional electricity market integration welcomes new signatories, 13 Mar 2017

Three new signatories have joined the WB6 regional electricity market integration initiative. The Romanian transmission system operator CNTEE Transelectrica SA, the Greek transmission system operator IPTO SA and the Greek market operator LAGIE SA have signed the Energy Community’s Western Balkan 6 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on regional electricity market development.

Albania’s Power Exchange Set Up within the End of March 2017 by Dr Lorenc Gordani, 13th March 2017

Albanian legal framework needed for the establishment of the organised electricity market is under development. Based on the Power Sector Law, the Council of Ministers adopted in July 2016 the Market Model which paves the way towards creating the Albanian power exchange. The Market Model is forseen to be soon complemented with market rules that are in process of approving by the ERE.
