Unfortunately, it us usually those who are socio-economically disadvantaged that are affected by economic-political controls of water. They usually have no control over and are often directly affect by outcomes and decisions made by others. Many groups rely on water sources for survival. Damning of rivers, polluting oceans, not only destroy people’s occupation but also livelihoods and spiritual belief systems that center around bodies of water. Many activist groups are minority groups like indigenous aboriginals, queer and disabled bodies, whose lack of access to resources become a focal point for activism. And often the point of change.
