Coming back to life was... Different. Definitely not what it was like when he crossed the veil before. Ares had gifted him to Persephone, a statue set outside her palace in Elysium, and there he’d sat for weeks, certain that would be his fate. But then, he was back, and the world was going on as if nothing had ever happened. Time had returned to the moment before the veil fall, and all the magic that the rifts had performed was suddenly undone. It was kind of surreal, but, Nik was content to return to life if that was what the Gods had willed. Classes resumed, and so did his study group, he sat from Nadia now, nervous to meet her gaze whereas before he’d actively sought it out. When group ended, he approached her, maybe because he was a glutton for punishment, but because he told himself that he wanted to look after her. She’d looked at him... The way that she had looked at him, so at least now he knew that he could never reveal to her what he was. Some people simply couldn’t handle learning of the supernatural world. “Do you have class now?” Nik asked, “I could walk you.”
