Alfred Pennyworth considered himself an unflappable man, though that staunchness had been tested when he’d heard Master Dick had somewhat settled down with a lady friend, one who would be staying with them at the Manor no less. However, it seemed to do the boy good and Alfred rather enjoyed the spunk of the young lady in question. 

He’d just finished brewing some specially selected coffee and the fragrant aroma filled the kitchen. Alfred timed it to perfection, pouring it into a designer glass mug and turning to hold it out as Tanya walked in, “Good morning Ms Tanya. Would you like some breakfast or will it just be coffee today?”

The bar he sang in was, to say the least, unsafe, usually there was a shootout or stabbing or at least a punch-up there every other night; it was so incredibly chaotic and he thrived off the energy of the place a sort of dark carnival for his amusement. Right now though things had been quiet for about a week and he didn’t care for that. He’d finished his performances for the evening and had spotted a group of thugs playing cards in the corner, perfect. 

It was a simple illusion to cause every card in their hands to appear as aces than, when all put down sparked accusations of cheating and seconds later they were at one another’s throats, several others joining in for the hell of it. He sat back languidly at the bar and sipped his drink, lighting up a cigarette and smirking at the woman next to him, “I really love this place.” he said lightly.
