The waterfront bustled with tourists as they meandered up and down the boardwalk, there was a part of Emma who often wished that she could experience the world with a pair of fresh eyes. But she’d walked this earth for almost four centuries now and had seen the rise and fall of revolutions and regimes. She wondered where it was that she fit into it all, there was a time where the vampire inserted herself into conflict and protests - she was a suffragette, an army nurse, and even a wife. Corinth felt like the place where she could reinvent herself again though after living so many lived already she wondered what would be left of her if she kept starting over.
Potent magic filled the air around her, she’d been hunted by a fury once when she was young. She’d been foolish, violent, and reckless. But she also wasn’t that person anymore. It seemed a shame to travel halfway around the world just to be cut down now, but maybe that was what the Greeks were so fond of referring to as fate. Emma didn’t look at the fury just yet, she simply asked, “Are you here to kill me?”
