Desmond had his hands in his pocket, ignoring the people around him who were more of a nuisance than anything. Years of being the center of everyone’s universes during his teens stuck with him to this day, giving him the overly confident personality and his inability of adapting to a certain person with his words and attitudes. There was no fun in being nice and cautious all the time, it was easier drifting away from ‘safe’ and the ‘rules.’ He needed a bar, and needed one quickly to avoid his self-diagnosed ‘alcohol headaches’ that surely came from the millions of other activities he involved himself with.
Desmond gave a familiar wink to the bartender before ordering the strongest vodka that was his favorite mixed with lemon lime soda. He turned to his left to look at the television before spotting a familiar face in a corner standing by themselves. Once his drink was in his hand, he quickly moved over. “You know. I have a great memory and I recall your own inability of detective work with someone of your own species. I also remember just how great I found that face and eyes of yours. And I can’t forget about your charming personality.” He winked. “How have you been?”
