“What are you doing here?” Seeing the other on her doorstep after their rather recent falling out was a rather big surprise. “Didn’t we mutually agree we never wanted to see each other again?” Crossing her arms over her chest and pursing her lips, her fingers tapped against her arms. “What crappy excuse do you have for showing up unannounced?”

Noah groaned audibly, pulling her blanket over herself. “Can’t I bury my head instead of going outside today,” the brunette exclaimed, her voice muffled by the blanket. Her cheeks reddened at the memory of the night before. She’d made a right fool out of herself and she was quite sure anyone she ran into if she left her dorm room would laugh at her for it. “I don't have any important classes today, anyway.”

“Maybe I just need to get drunk to forget all of my problems and just...I don’t know. Get out of this stupid rut I’m in.” Despite the laugh that escapes the brunette’s lips, there are tears welling her eyes. Biting her lip, her gaze drops to the floor. “I just want to stop feeling this way,” she mumbles.

“If I was in a villa with a bunch of my exes, I don’t think I’d hook up with any of them. I’d be so mortified I’d probably try to escape instead. I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be excited to see me either,” Noah admits, scrunching up her nose. “What would you do?”
"You don’t seriously think that’s why I left,” Noah frowns, turning to face the other. “It wasn’t your fault, it was never your fault,” she insists softly. It's been months since the day she left without a word. She'd half expected the other to be angry when they spotted her back in town. It has never crossed her mind they might've blamed themselves. Biting her lip, she takes a breath before she admits the real reason she left: "I don't deserve you. I never have and never will. I guess I was hoping you'd move on to someone else once I'd left.”
“Oh, come on. Now you just sound like you’re jealous,” Noah laughed teasingly. Her gaze dropped to her lap, her smile momentarily fading. It was a fairly normal summer day, with the two of them lazing around in the pool. But she was suddenly overcome by the worry that they were in fact jealous. “It’s not like anything has happened between us,” she hastily added with a small grin. She tried her best to shake off the feeling. It was pointless. There was no way the other was jealous.

“Oh yeah, I totally forgot it wasn’t you who left all those years ago without a word,” Noah exclaimed sarcastically, before letting out a laugh. “Isn’t this a lucky ducky reunion, huh?” She smiled at the others. A bright but ever so sarcastic smile.
