Trust.
I had a conversation with my woman today where I gave her some details on a place that we could rent. It was a little bit more expensive than we had talked about, but the area is nice and a family friend would be renting to us (which makes life so much less complicated). I didn’t know how she’d feel about it, but when I told her, she says:
“You know what? You’re pretty excited about it and you sound sure, so I’m with it. I trust you.”
I trust you. Those three little words, at times, can be more powerful than “I love you.” Now again, this is another small moment I’ve highlighted, but it really speaks volumes to this relationship. For us, that trust is mutual. It goes beyond decisions (be it choosing birthday gifts or apartments). I trust her with my heart. When you are no stranger to heartbreak, that is no easy task. And beyond all the “pain and anguish” of failed relationships, a girl like me was just over it all. Tired. I wasn’t trying to care about anyone but myself. I didn’t want to risk trusting in someone who would take that trust for granted...AGAIN. But then this girl crashes into my life and suddenly, I have someone who loves all of this complicated (yet beautiful) chaos. And you know what else? She TRUST me. Believes that I have her best intentions in mind at all times, and will be wise with the care of her heart.
That’s not just a blessing. It’s an honor.
