Her internship in the mayor’s office was always slow to pass. For many years politics had been her main focus as she moved forward, but The Grid had shifted things. Now things in this world had a dull sense of obligation, but she still showed up no matter how bad she felt. It had been a few days since level 18 and most of have them had made a full come back. Bailey was still working on that but she was most of the way there. The clock read one and Bailey rushed to take her hour off, hoping to rest her aching feet for a moment.
Through the rush of people, she felt him there before she saw him, Wes, a content smile spread across her face. How had he known she would take lunch now. Without dwelling on it she rushed towards him wrapping her arms around his neck as if years had passed. Sighing she relaxed in a way that no one else could understand.
“How did you know I needed this today?” She asked with a smile as she pulled out of the hug.
