Out By Sea || Fionn & Aohd
Aohd stood by the bulletin board of an old fishing village. There was a notice, seemed to be up for awhile as the ink seemed faded compared to the rest. His emerald eyes read the scribe about the seas being tormented by pirates. He folded his arms as he looked at it, only to feel a small tug on his coattail.
A small child with a toll in her hand was standing by his side, “Are you gonna fight the pirates like everyone else?” “’Everyone else?’ Others have tried?” “Yeah, but I think the pirates are really nice because no one ever comes back.” “... Oh.”
Aohd would get onto one knee with a smile, “Well... I’m nicer, I’ll bring everyone back!” He would pat her head and stand up, making his way to the dock.
There was a ship docked, must have been for some time. The captain was a hardened sailor, his eyes out on the horizon. Aohd approached the man, the captain not turning back as they spoke, “Aye, what do you need, lad?” “I’d like to seek passage.” “Whereto? You know the seas are dangerous, you might not--” “To the danger.” The captain would turn about to look at the young lord, his eyes widening. To seek such danger, why... He must be--!
A fool.
Aohd found himself rowing out to the ocean, “He didn’t have to laugh...”
