Create a delightful bouquet of font-shaped cookies with vibrant colors and intricate designs. Perfect for special occasions and personalized gifts.
Ingredients: 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Edible food coloring. Royal icing confectioner's sugar, meringue powder, water. Piping bags and small tips.
Instructions: Mix the flour and baking powder together in a bowl. Mix the butter and sugar in a different bowl until the mixture is smooth. The egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract should all be mixed in. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. Separate the dough into pieces, and color each piece with a different food dye. Cover the colored dough pieces with plastic wrap and put them in the fridge for at least an hour. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets. On a floured surface, roll out each color of dough piece to about 1/4 inch thick. Letter cookie cutters can be used to make shapes out of the dough. Put the letter cookies on the baking sheets that have been prepared. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Place the cookies on a wire rack to cool all the way down. Follow the directions on the package to make the royal icing by mixing confectioner's sugar, meringue powder, and water together. Place different bowls of icing together and add food coloring to each one to make it look nicer. Put the colored frosting into piping bags with small tips. Use the royal icing to make different font designs and patterns on the letter cookies that have been left to cool. Let the icing harden on the cookies before you handle them or package them.
