Ginger is cousins with Cosmo, who's a significantly more popular toon with him being best friends with a popular main. She's kinda put aside/not acknowledged in the show because of it, and it doesn't help that she's really shy. Dyle also experiences something similar with him not being put in the show at all, so he empathises with her

Headcanons:

Ginger is transfem bisexual. Dyle is demiace

When it's not Christmas, he regularly visits her in his off time if he could

Dyle looks out for every toon, especially the holiday ones since they only come out once a year

Dyle looks quiet at first but is really chatty when you get to know him. He especially loves sharing gossip and making bets about the other toons

They both make cookies together!! Dyle bakes them and Ginger decorates them

It was Ginger who developed the crush first but never made a move.

Dyle took a bit longer to feel anything more than platonic friendship but he fell HARD. Unlike Ginger, he was actively making advances by giving her gifts, making her dinner, etc.

Before they got together she's constantly warned by Cosmo and, especially, Sprout since Dyle's work is largely unknown, he's tied to Dandy, and likes to gossip

Speaking of gossip, he loves sharing Gardenview tea with her whenever he can, especially during her off time when it's not Christmas

Dyle is a hopeless romantic when it comes to Ginger. He would read whatever romance book Brightney has to stock up on romance knowledge. Sometimes he fumbles but Ginger swoons all the same
