8. How slow is a slow burn?
so much of slow burn is FEEL for me, so it’s hard to say… i’m no slowburn extremist, but word counts under 25k or so tagged slow burn make me go “oh!”
17. Past or present tense? Why?
this also depends for me LOL. i like present more, though! so much of my style is sort of dreamy and visceral and sensory; i really like the reader to feel like they’re there in the moment with the pov character <3

Akechi considers him as long as it takes to breathe out. “You’re asking that here?”
Where else? Ren thinks dizzily, focusing on the cigarette between Akechi’s bare fingers: the texture of the paper, the exposed skin of his knuckles, the kiss of pressure that holds it aloft.
