7. Learn how to bake bread

Easing myself in with an easy tick I took advantage of a night in with my personal chef in residence and got him to teach me to make bread

1. Measure 500g strong white flour.

2. Mix a packet of yeast (cheat?) with 300ml of liquid (cider? beer? water on this maiden attempt)

3. Mix flour and yeast mix with 10g of salt.

4. Knead knead knead.

5. Put in a bowl and cover with a teatowel. Leave to 'proof' for 45 minutes. 

6. Shape into whatever shape you want it and dust with flour. Leave another 30 minutes for a 'double proof'. Cut a pretty cross in the top.

7. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes ish. 

8. Eat. 

Perhaps I need to do this without chef supervision to earn the full tick. And keen to experiment with flavours. Yes, one to be repeated...nom nom
