So, today I wore an outfit I had gotten from the thrift store the other day and I thought it was a pretty cute combo. I black dress with a built-in brown belt around the waist and a turquoise blazer that is too big, so it’s a long blazer, but it’s not longer than my dress. I liked the feel and the vibe. It was like a Carrie’s Diary style vibe.

So, this morning one of my housemates commented on my outfit. She had said, “Oh! ____ and I were just talking about your style while we were in Germany, that ‘she has an interesting style.’ I don’t mean that as a bad thing, but that outfit looks like something a grandma would wear.. but you rock it!”

Not really caring I tell her, “Hey it’s exactly like the song ‘Thrift Store’! I’m gonna take your grandpa’s style. Can I have his hand-me-downs? Plus I did get this outfit from a thrift store!”

Later in the day at work one of my clients said, “You look like a doctor!” I said, “Well, just call me Dr. Rose from now on...” She had also commented that it’s cool that I have my own style. I really hope that name sticks! Another client thought I was wearing a lab coat.

When I was at Dollar General the cashier asked if I was a teacher. I kind of laughed and said no, but I did just get off work. He had pointed to his shoulders (because it looked like the jacket had shoulder pads) and said well you really look professional. I just said thanks, I got it because I like the style.
