People who lose their life during some other hardship meet the guardian dragon, Angua, who takes them to the afterlife on her back. This dragon was the one your mother met, Lauzun.

She gave her a ride to the heavens.

People who fullfill their lives properly are taken by the dragon named Kia. He's the industrious one, he takes each of them in his mouth and flies them there through the night sky.

...Those who die by their own hands are taken by the forgiving dragon, whose name is long lost to time.

Don't have too much resentment in your heart for these people, Lauzun. Remember that their actions hold their punishment.

After a hundred maggots feast on their corpse,

Two hundred flies will come for their share.

When the flies are satisfied,

Three hundred ants will feed on their body.

When all the ants are full,

Every last beetle of the forest shall come for a meal,

Only when every one of them is finished

Will the forgiving dragon take the person to the afterlife.
