Jacqui had noticed the bruises on Jesse’s face when they had first spotted him, hating the way that her eyes seemed to find him even through the crowd. It had caused the slightest twinge in her chest, wondering what he had done to deserve it. Because if he deserved it certainly wasn’t a question to Jacqui. But that didn’t mean they enjoyed it, or wanted to see anyone else swing at him on top of the day old bruises. Unable to simply ignore him, ignore the blood coming from his nose, Jacqui slipped over towards Jesse, lightly placing her hand on his back and pushing him towards the bathroom. 

“Go,” they said, not giving him the chance to protest, knowing he was going to from the look on his face, giving him their best menacing look as they continued pushing him towards the bathroom. “Sit,” they said, pointing towards the toilet once they were inside, locking the door behind them as Jacqui reached for one of her towels, wetting it and going to stand in front of Jesse. She tipped his chin up, lightly pressing the washcloth to his nose, avoiding his eyes as she did so. “What did you do?” they asked, eyes roving over the bruises and fresh blood, though still not meeting his gaze.
