From a negative viewpoint, given that the rate of acceleration of global warming increases as the rate of global warming increases, it’s too late to do anything. The mistakes of the past have been compounded. There’s now no turning back.
Positively thinking, however, this means that whatever we do now still matters. Our current actions will be felt many times over in the future. We can’t reverse our decline, but we can slow it down.
#the earth will take a long time to heal#i have only faith that if humanity tries hard enough now#there’s still a chance#one can always hope#the ingenuity and tenacity of humankind is limitless#did you know? rainforests are actually pretty slow lungs#they do work#but they’re not efficient in removing carbon emissions#plants only produce a net loss of carbon dioxide when they’re photosynthesising and growing#a lot of the trees in the amazon have already stopped growing#relative to cash crops producing biofuel#that are labelled C4 plants#meaning they can absorb more CO2 due to their fast growing rates#the CO2 intaken is returned to the earth in the form of decomposition and biomass/biofuel#which further fertilises the soil for more growing#this creates a positive feedback loop through which carbon emissions can be reduced comparatively rapidly#i know google did some research on this#or they funded research at least#i think the company that proposed this idea was...#CoolPlanet#the world is teeming with revolutionaries and visionaries#it’s sad how they’re stifled by the rest for personal gain#i did not type all this out for 0 notes
