The loud, but not blaring music. The lights not too bright, just right. The people dancing and screaming to the dj’s beats. It was perfect, one of the best nights in Joe’s club. Nothing could ruin his groove as moved through the crowd, making sure everyone was having a good time.
And that’s when he saw it.
He never thought this could happen to him, he thought Tiger would never.
But he did, and at his club too. Did he want Joe to see them?
Joe's heart dropped as the world began to spin. He couldn’t even wrap his head around the fact that Tiger would do that. And with the person he considered a brother?
Joe’s vision started blurring as he saw Tiger and Miko pull away and smile at each other. Like this was something that was normal, like something they’ve been doing for a while.
Tiger was laughing at something Miko said till he turned his head and saw Joe. He froze, he knew he was caught. Joe walked off before the tears could come down his face.
“Wait, Joe!” Joe heard him call out, but he didn’t stop, didn’t even turn around as he went into his record room.
Joe just stood there, in the middle of the room, just thinking about everything. How just that morning, Tiger said he couldn’t love anyone like he loved him. How genuine it sounded when he said it, like it was a fact. He thought about how he didn’t see the signs, how he still couldn’t think of anything suspicious that Tiger did.
“Joe, wait I can explain!” A familiar voice that snapped Joe out of his thoughts.
“Explain what?” Joe’s voice broke as tears streaked his face. “How you just kissed him? In front of everyone, IN MY CLUB?!”
“Not really, he kissed me?” Tiger said in defense. Really? That was his fucking defense?
“And you still reciprocated! What’s the difference?!”
“But you look sober now!” Joe retorted.
“How long has it been happening?!”
Tiger’s eyes drifted way from Joe, looking down at the ground. “A… A while.”
“Do you love him, Tiger?”
Tiger still didn’t say a word. That was all Joe needed.
He just looked at Tiger, the man he fell in love with, the man who swore to love him back. And he felt nothing. Just, a wave of numbness spreading through him.
“W-wait, what?” Tiger sputtered out, clearly taken aback by Joe’s sudden coldness.
“I’ll pack your stuff and you can pick it up on Friday. And drop your keys off while you’re at it.”
“But we can can work this out-“
“No. No, we can’t. You love him, so why would I hold you back from being with him?”
“N-no Joe, it meant nothing-“
“But that kiss meant everything to you, didn’t it? Along with the whole damn affair. Don’t lie Tiger, it meant everything.”
