Introducing - Cooper Rose
Cooper Rose is a treasure residing in Bristol who will reignite your love of music and writing.
After being sent a link to an acoustic of Cooper Rose performing People Like You on YouTube, I rushed to find more music and Soundcloud has been open on the singer songwriter’s page ever since.
Racking my brain, I tried to find a word that would accurately describe Cooper Rose. Original? Pure? Easy listening? Whilst all of those are true, none of them seemed to fit. Cooper Rose is real.
3 weeks ago new uploads were added to the musician’s Soundcloud, Delicate Downfall a direct love letter put to music. ‘Your heart is big your hands are small, you can have it all the most delicate of downfalls.’ With subtle harmonies in the background, it has an almost Keaton Henson quality to it.
I Could Get Used To This (my personal favourite) is a sentimental ballad that everyone can agree with. ‘Can’t stop checking my phone what did you do today?’ It is affectionate and perfectly describes all of the emotions you first feel with someone special.
Cooper Rose is honest and open, listening to her sing feels like visiting an old friend. Not only can she sing but her lyrics are stunning pieces of poetry that compliment instrumentals. There is a quality in Cooper Rose which makes you feel at ease, maybe it’s the soft vocals, her ability to accompany sadness and pick you up again or her ever present accent but the connection Cooper Rose makes means that even though she’s coming from your laptop, she might as well be right beside you.
