I'm thinking about how Celodi and Cooper both use bright, eye-catching colors as a way to conceal their mutations. Girls who hide in plain sight

Celodi ofc dyes her hair violet largely because people will see the color next to her fins and not stop to realize that it isn't anywhere on them

Cooper is a little different though because he wears the colors that are on his fins as a line of defense in case someone spots them.

reckless about how well his shit is hidden (the fins especially, I think she just pins them down and lets her hair cover them) but smart enough to dress up how she does so no one goes HUH WHAT WAS THAT if something flashes out for a second
