For the Coordinator!Emmet AU, when it comes to Ingo becoming the PLA protagonist's actual, legal Uncle, as cute as Emmet and Johanna meeting, getting to know one another, becoming friends, and then falling in love could be, it would be WAAAAY more funny if Emmet suggested it sheerly because he heard the kid refer to Ingo as their 'Uncle.'

Emmet hears "Uncle Ingo" and just thinks to himself, 'Uncle Ingo...? Hey, we can actually make that happen!'

The next day he runs up to Johanna just like, "Hey! So, hear me out. Let's get married! Why? Well, we are both single. No one would nag us to be looking for a partner or try to get with either of us when we're not interested. But also, 1: Tax benefits. 2: It would make it easier for all of us to get dual citizenship. 3: More excuses for all of us to get together. 4: The kid calling Ingo their 'Uncle' would become a factual statement. 5: We're all already practically family anyway. 6: Ingo and I will make sure that you and the kid will always be able to access the Unovan Subway system for free."

This is just an idea that absolutely tickles me.

Coordinator!Emmet chapters are done!

Okay, but I was just thinking... In the AU in which Emmet becomes a Pokemon Coordinator and becomes very good friends with Johanna, aka the DPP/BDSP/PLA protagonist's mother... When she finds out that Arceus kidnapped her kid and sent them to the Meiji Period, Johanna is going to be PISSED!

Arceus had better be sweating because mama's coming for it! I imagine that Emmet's more than happy to help Johanna in her new quest to kick Arceus' ass for kidnapping her kid. Emmet just lets Johanna borrow his Pokemon to kick Arceus' ass with. Johanna deserves a bit of violence against God after it let her believe that her kid had gone missing and was presumably dead for a hot bit there!

Now there's an AU idea. After Ingo disappears, Emmet becomes a Pokemon Coordinator.

After Ingo disappeared, his Pokemon started to refuse to battle anymore. Emmet wants to respect that, but as he's always used Ingo's Pokemon to flesh his teams out, Emmet is actually unable to run any of the Battle Subway lines anymore. Not even the Doubles lines. He just doesn't have enough Pokemon to create 2 whole Doubles teams with unique members on each without using Ingo's Pokemon. And so this means that Emmet has to step down as a Subway Boss.

Emmet eventually ends up in Sinnoh during his search for Ingo, and for some reason or another ends up participating in a contest. At first he thinks that all of this is lame, but upon seeing how Ingo's Pokemon actually want to participate in this (being the most energetic he's seen them in months. Contests are distinctly different from Pokemon battles after all), he pushes through and does it anyway. And after participating in this first contest, Emmet's competitive spirit kicks in and he proceeds to get waaaay too much into trying to win as many contests as he can.

Cut to a few months later and Emmet is a professional Pokemon coordinator now.

When Ingo returns, he is very confused to see that Emmet has changed all of the movesets on his Pokemon, and all of their Pokeballs are now covered in stickers and capsule decorations.

Okay, but the more I think about Coordinator!Emmet, the more I'm genuinely liking the idea!

Because if he becomes a coordinator in Sinnoh and you buy into the theory that the player character of PLA is also the the main character of DPP/BDSP then it leads to the wonderful possibility of Emmet meeting Johanna, Dawn/Lucas' mother! Like, maybe they start off as contest rivals, but then actually become good friends! After all, they both have lost loved ones to very mysterious circumstances, and it could nicely parallel Ingo's relationship to the PLA protagonist in Hisui.

Now following this idea down to its most extreme conclusion... I don't know if I find the idea of Johanna and Emmet dating to be hilarious or just endearing! I don't tend to want to ship Emmet with anyone (I personally very much get the vibe that he's somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum), but I may make an exception for this one! Because imagine the irony! Turns out that Lucas/Dawn's 'Uncle Ingo' is actually, legally speaking, their actual Uncle now!

You know... I think that in the Coordinator!Emmet AU that I have going, that Emmet should befriend Barry and Lucas. He wouldn't know it, but it's practice for becoming Dawn's new dad.

Maybe in the process Emmet can also get Palmer to come home more often and be a better father to Barry.

I've been tempted to write something to do with the Coordinator!Emmet AU but... Looks at my pile of ongoing projects that just keeps getting bigger and bigger, screaming.

I'm thinking that if I get 100 or more notes on any of the posts I've made about the AU, then I'll write something with it. A one-shot fic or drabble or something. But until then... I'ma just lay down here on top of my pile of projects... Rotting...

Working on the Coordinator!Emmet AU a bit and just... I am very very tempted to try and have Emmet use Ingo's Garbodor for Cuteness contests. But I must admit that Garbodor's options for said contests would be limited.

As it stands right now, I've been building Emmet's contest team stuff around the assumption that he's going to be working to each of Ingo's Pokemon's strengths. But it is very VERY much like Emmet to try and do something absurd, but make it work anyway! This is leaving me conflicted on how to build these contest teams. >.<

Presently each Pokemon is doing these formats: Crustle: Cute Garbodor: Clever Excadrill: Tough Haxorus: Cool Chandelure: Beauty

But the possibilities of having other Pokemon do other formats is very tempting to me. >.<
