I have worked on this snare drum shell here and there between mixing sessions for about a week now. After days of successes, mishaps and failures, I learned a lot about getting different colors to appear and “fixing” spots that went awry. I just learned this morning that amonia and salt together can fix spots that went light beige and turn them back to brown. I’ve learned to get certain blues, greens, and browns using combinations of white vinegar, red wine vinegar, salt, amonia, Miracle Gro, and good ol’ oxygen. I’m finally satisfied enough with the finish to put the first coat of lacquer on. I’ll be putting the second coat on in a few minutes. Then, I’ll let it dry for a day and prep it for all the chrome hardware to go back on. I think it will be quite beautiful. I’ll want to play this drum even more and I already loved it 😁 #coppersnaredrum #drummods #copperart #copperoxidation #slingerlanddrums (at Oakland, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMQnuAThUVw/?igshid=5gxpayfdzg85
