I fucking hate cops why did they shoot that poor dog omg 😞😞😞😞😞😞
I saw a cop car stuck soooooo bad in the snow outside the library this morning lol
YALL SOMEONE JUST TRIED TO BREAK INTO MY HOUSE. THESE COPS JUST SHRUGGED IT OFF AS BEING A POSSUM. A POSSUM?! SINCE WHEN DOES A POSSUM RATTLE A DOORKNOB?!?!?? FUCK COPS
Well, after reading another cops are useless story, I have one of my own. Not as harrowing as the ones that really go around, not by a long shot, but I have my own personal story of Cops Being Useless in my life. So, it happened many years ago. I worked at a horse farm, mucking stables for personal-check close to minimum-wage pay. I loved the job despite it being low-wage and one of those “lowly jobs” where I was working for rich people (who honestly could have afforded to pay me more) - because horses. My fiance’ came to pick me up after work and we decided to go to Rita’s (water ice) instead of going right home. We encounter a pair of horses loose and wandering the highway. They weren’t from my farm, but from one of the neighbors. My fiance’ puts his cell phone in my hand and tells me to call 911, so I call and make a report of horses on the road, being a road-hazard. Meanwhile, we swerve around them with our car and drive slowly, trying to gently shepherd them back toward our farm so we can rally people and get harnesses to catch them. I tell the 911 operator what we are doing when... some jackass comes whipping down the road (a road notorious for people just speeding down it and not looking at what they’re doing) and... well, one of the horses got hit. The thrown horse came within inches of hitting our car. It didn’t, but there was this whinny-scream and in the darkening evening, I just kind of... saw this...um... (the squeamish stop reading the brackets, please) [...um... pile of guts and hooves. I’ll never forget the smell and I was most worried as to whether the animal was still alive. Thankfully, it wasn’t]. I screamed at the operator what just happened and hung up the phone as my fiance’ screamed at me to “Keep the other horse in the field!” The other horse had careened off into the field by the side of the road and was acting... like a panicked horse. It kept running back and forth between the treeline of the woods and the road and... my job was to try to keep the horse out of the road. I locked into mental mission-mode and carried on and waved my arms and kept on the edge of the road, frightening the horse back into the field whenever it came close so as to keep it from running into any oncoming traffic. Meanwhile, my fiance’ was checking on the driver of the truck that hit the one horse. (The man and his dog were okay). He took his phone back and we were trying to get ahold of the people at my horse-farm, my boss, co-workers, other horse-owners to rally them with equipment to come try to harness this horse, help us calm it. It was at least a half hour before the cops from the 911 call showed up. And what did they do when they arrived? Well, they did take care of the accident report with the guy in the truck that had hit the one horse. As for the rest of it? Nada. They just STOOD AROUND AND WATCHED ME - and my fiance’ when he was free to help handle the situation, put ourselves between a 1000lb ball of fear we were trying to keep from getting killed / potentially killing drivers and... idiot drivers whipping up the corner of the road. Seeing this... I was kind of polite and said “Yeah, it is probably better if we handle it, we know how to deal with horses,” - I just figure the cops had lack of basic equestrian and farming-knowledge. My fiance and I kept trying to calmly approach the horse when it had moments where it looked like it was calming down. Not everybody has knowledge of reading the body-language of animals or how to do the talking calmly to them thing... but... STILL. The cops really didn’t lift a finger. They were content to watch me put myself between a 1000lbs of bolting flesh and hooves and the two-ton metal death-bullets coming down the roadway at the edge of the road, where I could have easily been hit by either. I got scolded the next day, too, by one of my sub-bosses for frightening the owner of the farm over the phone because the owner mis-heard that it was one of her horses that got hit and panicked before the situation was worked out. She apologized later, after being nudged to. But, you know, that’s what I got for risking my life. Useless cops and a boss scolding me. The living horse was taken care of. I was really sad and worried when I’d heard that the two horses had belonged to a teen girl. Sad that one was killed, but glad that one was saved, at least. Was worried about that horse, too, because they bond...this horse just lost his buddy, horses can get depressed. But yeah, I’ve been in emergency situation where cops were pretty useless. I mean.. they could have tried? Seen what I was doing and asked to help? Called around the farms asking for people with horse-harnesses like we were already doing?
Between the racism and violence against women, I am so fucking weary
She’s 15,, what harm can she possibly be cmon
