She is a member of the cabal empire (same species as legionaries and such). But she is part of caiatl's section, so she arrived when Caiatl showed up (so was never with ghaul, calus, or red legion). She served as a guard for Caiatl. Not personal, moreso like in the hallway outside sort of situation. After the events of Chosen she was offered as a body guard/helper/whatever to Zavala as a political gesture. Coratl herself has no intent to be a spy and I don't believe Caiatl offered her as such. She is supposed to represent good will towards humanity. She was chosen because she was interested in humanity and their various cultures. She was also chosen because she's not like "VIOLENCE! YEAH!". She has a healthy attitude towards combat, but she appreciations friendly competition. She's fairly compatible with humanity. She befriends my fiance @lesbianeliksni's cute warlock oc and they fall in love. I'll wait to talk more about that until after cas's introduces her. But Coratl also meets and becomes friends with a ghost who had lost her guardian. I don't have a name for the ghost yet. But she's very similar to eris the ghost is. Jaded, lonely, afraid to trust again. But Coratl appeals to her and they become friends. I think part of the reason is that Coratl doesn't baby her, but still respects her, still gives her space to mourn. Later on there's an attack (at the tower perhaps), and cas's oc is trapped and injured and like Coratl is holding up rubble and fighting to protect her, and she somehow gains the light. I imagine it to be similar to the way Shin gets light even tho he isn't dead when he gets it (plus I do what I want). So the ghost she met becomes her ghost and neither of them know how. But she starts off as a defender. After that, she tries to work for the alliance between the vanguard and caiatl. She wants them both to be healthy and safe, no more fighting between the two. She speaks in a similar manner to Caiatl. She's a bit studious for most cabal, but not as much as a warlock is. Lastly, her defender shield is a void phalanx shield.
