Hearing her friend hadn’t just come to Hogwarts, but had been Sorted into the same House, Brigid had been excited. She made friends easily, yes, but that didn’t make the friends she had any less important. 

However, they seemed to keep missing each other. Her own busy schedule didn’t help, but she knew Cora would understand. Brigid liked to work, she always had. 

When she did see her friend in the common room, she immediately rushed over to her to hug her. She was never shy, and always affectionate with those she cared about. “Oh, Cora, I’ve missed you.”

Evie wasn’t looking forward to going home, even if it was only for a short visit. Her husband knew that she had the time to come home, however, so she didn’t really have any choice. Not in as good a mood as always, she was keeping to herself when a woman with dark hair walked past her. “Oh, excuse me. Do you know if there’s any wine left?”

Hei missed the ocean already, she wasn’t ashamed to admit that. Standing by the Lake was not the same, but it was where she was drawn to all the same. Spying a familiar face, Hei’s eyes lit up as she changed her plans and took a few steps back. “Cora?” She looked over the pretty woman, as if not believing she was here. “You look beautiful. Hogwarts must suit you well.” She took Cora’s hand, squeezing it. “I am so glad you are here.” She hadn’t gotten to know Cora well, but she still meant the words. She always meant the things she said, in the moments the words were uttered.

Dearest Bri,

Merry Christmas! Truly, being reunited with you at Hogwarts was one of the brightest highlights of my year, and I’m overjoyed to get to call you friend every day and in person! I hope you had a wonderful year, and here’s to having another one.

As for your present, I’ve been discovering I’m actually rather decent at gem magic and the like. This one should help you out with any little scrapes and the like that you might get in your spars or from dastardly needles! It can’t do anything big, sadly. But it should be nice enough to get you through some injuries!

I also had an artist (a darling little Italian man) make a rendition of the exact face Dayo made the moment he realized what we’d done to him over dinner as our prank.
