Sorry that this is apparently Cordéposting central today but I do think the psychological impact of the assassination attempt at the beginning of AotC is very overlooked. Padmé experiences the entire plot through this filter of trauma + grief + guilt and I think that really informs her choices, especially her reaction to the Tusken massacre
