One of my favourite spiders, that I never get to see close up because they're so fast. This is a Spotted Ground Swift Spider, and even though she's missing a couple legs she was still living up to her name.
I was very lucky to get some decent photos, I dont know why this particular spider was so cooperative lol.

Another sac spider I caught in the office and put outside; looks like genus Castianeira again.

Yes, it's definitely a spider. This is a male and those big things on the face are not mouthparts but rather pedipalps, which are used in reproduction. Females will have much smaller-looking pedipalps. Anyhoo this friend looks like Falconina gracilis, which as far as I know has no common name but it's in the family Corinnidae with the ground and ant-mimic sac spiders :)

As their common name suggests, this friend belongs to a group of spiders that mimic ants for various reasons. While the resemblance is not as obvious in its appearance, their behavior of moving in short bursts of energy as well as tapping their front legs (in order to resemble antennae) clues us into their mimicry.
I absolutely adore the markings, I’ve always had a soft spot for monochromatic animals with bold contrast.
