DO #69: Hello! My Name is Elder Broad
I must admit, this quarter has not been my best. I certainly haven’t read every book or article assigned, but tonight I actually saw a book. The Book of Mormon, from the esteemed creators of South Park, follows two missionaries embarking on a journey to convert Ugandans to their faith.
The musical was witty, catchy and fun. I giggled in the first half, but after intermission, I was hysterical. I truly believe that it is impossible not to fall in love with The Book of Mormon after the baptismal scene. It is absolutely epic, and one of the most well-written pieces I have ever seen.
After booking it, we headed to the nearby wine bar Cork & Bottle. “We,” on this lovely occasion, is my former roommate Christy, her sister Meghan and her two friends from home. I’m telling you, the reunions never end—and I am definitely not complaining. We wined and—yep, just wined—until the place closed.
Then, we crossed the street to Zoo Bar. For the most basic, fun music, Zoo Bar is the best. For normal, not-super-creepy gentlemen, Zoo Bar is the worst.
From the musical to the bar, tonight was definitely one for the books. But something tells me Mormon and Arnold would not approve.
