About Cork Bar: Celebrating 2 successful years in DTLA, Corkbar is a California wine country inspired restaurant. Casual environment, large selection of exclusive wines and artisanal beers, and food menu is always farmers market fresh. http://www.corkbar.com/ Special Thanks to Shannon Davis, Garry Muir, Natalie van Waardenburg, Matthew Eldredge of CorkBar for hosting us!
DTLA Supper Club chooses CorkBar for March ........ BUT WHY? Before we upload our pictures from our March dinner, we want to discuss the reason why we chose CorkBar as a venue for the DTLA Supper Club...
Our Experience: Upon arriving to CorkBar, we really enjoyed the intimate yet casual environment. The lighting was dimmed to a romantic setting which set well against the wood interior.
We were greeted by Shannon Davis, super sweet and had wonderful menu and drink suggestions. She sat us a great table, overlooking the outside patio which has a lovely fire pit.... We picked an incredible rare to find bottle of wine, "The Prisoner" from Napa Valley which went great with all of our dishes. For a soft wine, the finish was long with the perfect balance of dryness and fruit. Highly Advisable...
We were a party of 4 and we wanted to sample everything family style. Shannon was able to suggest some popular dishes for us to share... Everything was delicious, the standout dishes were: The Cheese & Cured Meat Boards, The Grilled Cheese, The Burger, and the Jalapeno Infused Mac N Cheese... For Dessert we all shared a Chocolate board which featured truffles, hazelnut, caramel - topped with sea salts and complimented with fresh strawberries...
After having such a wonderful experience, The CorkBar was definitely a high contender on our list for our next DTLA Supper Club... We shopped the idea around to our close DTLA Supper Club Friends and most had never been which prompted us to host our next monthly dinner there. We just couldn't keep this hidden gem all to ourselves...
