It’s times like these where I take a deep breath and feel the life fill my lungs. When I exhale, I imagine it taking away all the pain and frustration that comes with my day to day life. One step at a time, some go forward and some go back. None of us really know where we stand. The silence is deafening, and through the cacophony of meaningless noise, nothing is really said. Sometimes, you just need to scream. What is any of this even for? The ears will listen to your cries. We are all lost in this maze. But we are surrounded by the corn. You are always, always surrounded by the corn. You may not see it, but if you close your eyes and listen, you’ll hear the wind through the leaves, feel the gentle whisps of silk on your cheeks. Where are you? In the fields, of course. Why are we doing this? Why bother? To one day be able to reach the other end of the maze. Great wonders await at the other side, but to reach the right end, you must strive to reach your full potential. You cannot take shortcuts, and you can’t just dig your heels into the ground and refuse to move forward. Let the whispers guide you. All will be well if you trust yourself. After all, to trust yourself is to trust the corn.
