Hey, snake-folks of Tumblr! Little ol' me's looking to get a corn snake soon, hopefully next weekend at a reptile expo. Above is a pic of a 4'x2'x18" enclosure I've got set up. I've got all the gadgets and gizmo's set up and running so I can get things dialed in to a good environment for a snake, and I've got a question for those more experienced. Using a temp gun I tested several spots in my enclosure and marked them in the photo. The blue areas are the surfaces, the yellow are the temps inside the hides. My question: How can I raise the temperature of the interior of the hides, most especially the rock-like one on the right? Apparently heat mats aren't effective being put under a pvc enclosure, and I'm not sure an ambient heat radiator is the way to go? Advice appreciated, thanks!
