It strikes me that the current and suddenly white middle class liberal realization that voting DOES matter, that government institutions and politicians under Trump DO NOT and WILL NOT in fact work for their benefit is, superficially, similar in many ways to the Black American perspective of the last, I don't know, 400 years?
Obviously it's not the same. But you may be shocked to learn that the "bad guys" are totally the same people.
What could this mean? What should we do? What a mystery!
Perhaps take this opportunity to watch videos by F.D. Signifier and Lil Bill and the other "cornbread tubers" (their phrase for it). You may be surprised to learn that the Black leftist community has had a philosophical framework and plan of action against systemic exploitation and fascism since like the 1930s, that all of us besides law enforcement absolutely ignore until the moments we realize that the System is keen to digest all of us, too.
This is one of those moments.
You're not safe, and you need to learn to live with that, but stand up anyway. Like Black Americans always have and always will.
At least take some pointers from them. You will always have it better than they do, and THEY'RE not surrendering to hopelessness.
We don't know how to suffer, and now, thanks to our own families and friends and sex partners, now is the time of suffering. At least take advice from the experts.
