The Supernatural Research Lab is broken into many departments and subteams, each of which play a specific role. Team Clear Sky is the SRL’s top covert extraction team, cleanly retrieving anomalies for the SRL without leaving any trace of their presence.

Team Clear Sky’s newest mission: track an anomaly that infiltrated Inkopolis from the depths of space, secure it and contain its abilities, then bring it to Dr Marusan for his research. For this purpose, their leader, [CLASSIFIED], has adopted the identity of mild-mannered germaphobe Inkfall as to blend in optimally.

Coroika Supernatural Creatures AU Infodump- Inkopolis:

(Anyone not listed here either is mortal, doesn’t have anything concrete yet, or will be in another post. This will also be updated as I flesh stuff out or change my mind)

Bobble Hat is a cosmic entity that’s taking an Inkling form because she thought mortal existence looked fun. She can warp reality and has enough existential information to drive a person insane, but doesn’t really abuse it because the thrill of mortality is enough to entertain her.

Goggles is physically mortal, but unintentionally and unknowingly made a warlock-style friendship pact with Bobble Hat. As a result, he has a subconscious aura that warps reality to his desires. Fortunately for everyone, his main desire is seeing people smile and have fun… and also food, specifically pickled plums.

Rider is a wereshark. He has enhanced strength and senses even outside of his wereshark form, and it gets stronger as the full moon approaches.

Army is a fire elemental who can use his fire to predict the future. For some reason, it only occurs to him that he can also use his fire for cooking after fighting Team Blue.

Aloha is a half-fae. He has access to fae magic, but its effects are somewhat temporary. He is also allergic to iron and plastic and prefers to not straight-up lie.

Mask is a witch, and in a coven with the rest of his team. Mainly what they do is make potions with either positive or negative magical effects. They can also enchant or summon things with rituals.

Skull thinks he’s mortal, but he actually has time-slowing powers (think BOTW bullet time). He doesn’t notice it because said ability requires him to be focused on something.

Emperor and Prinz are part vampire and part mortal(a three-quarters vampire and a half-vampire, respectively). Emperor’s vampire abilities are stronger than Prinz, but Prinz has a resistance to things like sunlight and holy metals.

Jr and N-Pacer are also vampires, nothing really special in their situation. All of Team Emperor have increased strength and speed, limited levitation, and magic.

Gloves is physically mortal, but Emperor gave him a magical artifact greatly enhancing his speed and allowing for limited spellcasting (totally out of admiration for his potential and not just wanting Gloves to go away and let him practice in peace).

Vintage and Omega both made pacts with a demon and basically gained soul-based magic to assist it. The X-Zone is an example of it, sensing and locating nearby souls.

Fierce, Justice, and Jet were all test subjects in an SRL branch experiment to make Inklings stronger, smarter, and faster. They escaped and ended up hiding in Mount Nantai to evade recapture. The treasure was Shellendorf’s invention that was in the process of being researched and replicated by the SRL until the trio stole it to keep out of irresponsible hands.

Hivemind is an android made by the SRL for enforcing order in a superpowered society. Him and Fierce were experimented on in the same lab, and grew close as a result.

Team School Cardigan are mermaids disguising themselves as normal Inklings by using their tails as legs.

In the Coro Creatures AU, the Black Labels are made using Wireglasses’ own petrifying venom. Of course, that venom had to be obtained somehow.

However, the short comic showing that origin is under the cut due to me deciding the funniest way to show the venom collecting was also the freakiest.

So, uh, mild suggestive warning. Nothing’s shown, just an out-of-pocket line.

The joke is that the process of extracting snake venom is called milking, and that’s what Ocho’s doing.

Also, Wireglasses is chill with it, his eyes are just like that in the last panel from a short-lived attempt at making more realistic side profiles

Another Coroika AU you might see from me: Basically, Coroika but pretty much everyone’s got something supernatural to them.

As in, Mask’s a witch (a potion-making spellcaster, not the Madoka Magica type of witch), Emperor and Prince are vampires, and Bobble Hat’s a cosmic entity taking Inkling form for fun, etc.

The plot would proceed similar to normal, just with extra supernatural shenanigans and SRL meddling.

I might do designs, but it’s not high on my project list.

Coroika Supernatural Creatures AU Infodump— Splatsville:

(Again, everyone from Splatsville not in here is either mortal or don’t have something concrete yet)

Braids has the ability to manipulate metal: a very strong ability if she can use it creatively. Up until meeting Team Blue, she just uses it to build things with scrap metal.

Hornmet is part dragon. She has claws and can breathe fire, but so far cannot fly.

Barreleye and Polpo are Mothman-type creatures, complete with large eyes and wings.

Shellmet is a flower nymph with the ability to magically cause plants to grow. Her plants are naturally capable of surviving the Splatlandian climate, but she still prefers to grow desert-native plants.

Shady can see and talk to ghosts. Occasionally, he doesn’t realize someone’s a ghost, but it is an easily cleared mistake.

8-Bit is basically a zombie. Specifically, she’s a ghost who refused to pass on after dying and is now possessing her own dead body. She can use 100% of her strength, but it damages her body, requiring her to literally pull herself back together.

Ocho is a siren who can use his voice to spark visions of the listener’s greatest desire. Naturally, he will use the subjects of these visions as leverage to get people to do what he wants them to. He also has small wings.

Wireglasses has petrifying venom in his beak and fingertips. It is released through bite or scratch, and hardens into stone after prolonged physical contact. After it hardens, it can be dissolved and washed off with hot water.

After entirely too long, Marusan in the Coro Creatures AU: a SRL researcher driven mad with obsession over an anomalous cosmic entity, now performing ethically dubious experiments on supernatural creatures to try to understand the nature of reality.

Him and the SRL as a whole have involvement from the Square King Cup arc onwards, employing groups like Team Inkfall (secretly a group of SRL-employed field agents) to observe the entity calling itself Bobble Hat. However, he actually steps in as an antagonist where the Stamp Rally arc would be, capturing Team Blue intending to study and experiment on them himself.
